About the Role

The QA/QC Manager assists in directing all site quality assurance and quality control activities, serving as a technical specialist in one or more areas. This role defines inspection processes, certifies co‑workers who perform inspections, and manages the inspection staff, typically holding an Inspector Level II or III certification. • Assign staff for QA/QC inspections and audits; supervise QC Level I‑III inspectors as needed. • Oversee generation, assembly, and maintenance of project QA documentation. • Review records for legibility, completeness, traceability, and compliance with acceptance standards. • Define inspection processes and certify inspection personnel. • Develop and implement QA/QC programs, including manuals, standards, procedures, and training. • Direct qualified inspection and test personnel to perform quality‑related tasks. • Review and approve test controls and results; conduct vendor inspections and witness tests. • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure company‑wide quality and safety compliance; implement corrective measures. • Perform internal and supplier/subcontractor audits; verify received items meet contract criteria. • Document and facilitate correction of non‑conformances. • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to direct reports and ensure managers do the same for their teams. • Hold timely performance appraisals and progress reviews. • Assist staff in setting short‑ and long‑term goals aligned with department and company strategy. • Ensure staff receive appropriate training for remediation, maintenance, or promotion. • Lead department staff meetings and contribute to initiatives, goals, policies, and procedures. • Collaborate with HR to ensure compliance with employment and labor laws and conduct related training. • Read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and government regulations. • Write clear reports, business correspondence, and procedural documents. • Customize and modify spreadsheets. • Apply mathematical concepts (fractions, percentages, ratios, geometry, trigonometry, interpolation) to practical problems. • Direct work and evaluate co‑workers’ strengths and weaknesses. • Define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or construction‑related field (or equivalent) with 6+ years experience. • Knowledge of construction practices such as formwork, rebar, and concrete placing. • Quality assurance experience, preferably in the nuclear power (DOE/DOD) sector. • Quality inspector experience. • Proficiency with applicable quality codes, standards, and preferably NRC regulations. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Proficient in SharePoint/FileNet and Blue Beam software. • Present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public. • Demonstrate good listening skills. • Work effectively in a team environment.
