About the Role

The employee assembles, wires, and tests electrical components such as relays, switches, transformers, circuit breakers, and terminal blocks while adhering to safety standards. Completed assemblies are installed into cabinets and enclosures, and component layouts are carefully positioned for feasibility, ease of installation, and future maintenance. Participation includes switch‑rack construction—bus fabrication, enclosure building, component mounting—and the measurement, fabrication, and installation of conduit, fittings, and complete wiring. The role also requires identifying continuous‑improvement opportunities, analyzing blueprints and schematics, noting discrepancies, advising the Manufacturing Engineer, and maintaining a clean work area. • Assemble, wire, and test electrical components (relays, switches, transformers, circuit breakers, terminal blocks). • Install finished assemblies into cabinets and enclosures. • Layout and position components for feasible construction and future maintenance. • Participate in switch‑rack construction, including bus fabrication and component mounting. • Measure, fabricate, and install conduit, fittings, and complete wiring assemblies. • Identify continuous‑improvement and cost‑saving opportunities. • Review blueprints/schematics, note discrepancies, and advise Manufacturing Engineer. • Maintain a clean and orderly work and shop area. • Cross‑train to develop additional skill sets as needed. • Operate hand, pneumatic, and power tools; use gauges and electrical testing equipment.

What You Bring

A high school diploma or GED is required, together with at least three years of electrical assembly experience and two years of electro‑mechanical assembly involving piping, conduits, and threading. Candidates must be proficient in reading and interpreting electrical wiring drawings without guidance. Prior experience as a field electrician, electrician apprentice, or certified electrician is preferred, as is experience building explosion‑proof or power‑distribution products. No relocation benefit is provided, though active‑duty military candidates are exempt from geographic limitations. Successful candidates demonstrate strong mechanical and technical aptitude, knowledge of mechanics, material characteristics, and electricity fundamentals. They must be capable of operating hand, pneumatic, and power tools, using gauges and electrical testing equipment to verify wiring and mechanical functions, and solving analytical problems. The role demands self‑starting ability, minimal supervision, effective teamwork, excellent time‑management and communication skills, and the capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused environment. Physical requirements include standing continuously, lifting 30‑50 lb regularly, and wearing required personal protective equipment. • Minimum 3 years electrical assembly experience; 2 years electro‑mechanical assembly. • Proficient in reading electrical wiring drawings without guidance. • Preferred: field electrician, apprenticeship, certified electrician, explosion‑proof product experience. • Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and knowledge of electricity fundamentals. • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, time‑management, and communication skills. • Ability to work overtime and handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. • Physical ability to stand continuously, lift 30‑50 lb, and wear required PPE.
