About the Role
The HazMat Field Driver/Technician is responsible for transporting various waste streams to designated generator sites safely and adequately. They operate straight trucks (box trucks) and tractor‑trailers to perform pickups of bulk and containerized hazardous and non‑hazardous waste while complying with government regulations and procedures. The role includes maintaining driver documents, performing DOT/MOT inspections, ensuring proper placarding, load securement, and HAZMAT segregation, and interacting with customers to ensure satisfaction. The driver may also serve as a technician on lab pack and field service projects and participates in the Site Safety program. • Operates trucks including roll‑offs, tankers, gravel trains, tractor‑trailers, and box trucks. • Performs LTL (less than load) pickups. • Maintains driver documents such as logbooks, permit books, trip reports, and waste manifests. • Ensures accurate placarding, load securement, HAZMAT segregation, and labeling. • Maintains company equipment. • Utilizes company technology, including mobile applications and software maintenance. • Conducts DOT/MOT pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections. • Communicates effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction. • Processes hazardous and non‑hazardous materials as needed. • Assists in maintaining good housekeeping at the facility and on the grounds. • May function as a technician on lab pack and field service projects. • Participates in the Site Safety program and required training.

What You Bring
Candidates must possess knowledge of electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and compressor systems, as well as pumps, motors, motor controls, instrumentation, and metal fabrication. They should be skilled with hand and shop tools, demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, and be able to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities. A Class A Commercial Driver’s License with hazardous‑material and tanker endorsements (or the ability to obtain them within 90 days) is required for this position. • Understands state weight limit laws. • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and compressor systems. • Knowledge of pumps, motors, motor controls, instrumentation, metal fabrication, and other maintenance functions. • Skilled in using hand and shop tools and instruments. • Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail. • Able to prioritize, stay focused, and handle multiple diverse responsibilities. • Class A Commercial Driver’s license required with hazardous material and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days.
