About the Role
In this role you will oversee data collection, supervise civil‑engineering work, develop future‑ready technologies, verify site conditions, prepare technical reports, and communicate findings through sketches and drawings. You will also perform engineering analyses, assist junior staff with risk assessments, lead large‑scale projects, manage budgets and subcontractors, review permits and design plans for compliance, and conduct concept‑level design and hydraulic modeling. • Oversee data collection and incorporate findings into studies, reports, and designs. • Supervise civil engineering work, including assessment of existing infrastructure and preparation of sketches, analyses, and cost estimates. • Develop and integrate future‑ready technologies, monitoring devices, and design requirements. • Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on engineering, design, and construction issues. • Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing analyses, alternatives, and recommendations. • Perform engineering calculations using software, spreadsheets, and electronic systems. • Assist junior staff with risk identification, design concepts, and remediation projects. • Lead large‑scale projects, manage budgets, track hours/expenses, and supervise subcontractors. • Review permit applications, design plans, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. • Conduct concept‑level design of treatment works and hydraulic modeling for water and wastewater conveyance. • Mentor staff and stay current with water resources engineering techniques.

What You Bring
We are seeking an AVP Water/Wastewater Engineer to expand our Texas water business. The ideal candidate brings broad experience in planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater treatment, pumping, and conveyance facilities, and is willing to develop new skills in stormwater and groundwater projects within cross‑functional civil‑engineering teams. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, a professional Engineer license (multi‑state preferred), and at least ten years of water‑resources engineering experience. Required skills include strong knowledge of environmental laws, advanced technical computations, effective interpersonal communication, leadership, QA/QC adherence, and proficiency with technical writing and modeling tools. • Hold a Bachelor’s in Civil/Environmental Engineering and a professional Engineer license (multi‑state preferred). • Minimum 10 years of water resources engineering experience. • Strong knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and compliance practices. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. • Proficiency in technical writing, office software, predictive models, and QA/QC processes. • Ability to travel as required and adapt to flexible schedules. • Preferred: Master’s degree, OSHA HAZWOPER training, and CPR certification.
