CNC Programmer 1

Job Highlights
About the Role
The CNC Programmer 1 is responsible for transferring simple components and assemblies from 2D and 3D designs into CNC programs for the fabrication team, using well‑defined processes. The role also involves understanding and maintaining both programs and manufacturing processes to ensure efficient operations, all in support of JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values. • Follow directions and refer all exceptions to supervisor. • Utilize knowledge of machines and material types to create CNC programs. • Read blueprints and instructions to understand component specifications. • Diagnose basic errors or machining defects to improve component quality. • Create or modify programs for a variety of machines. • Collaborate with fabricators, designers, engineers, and facility personnel to correct production errors. • Validate programs before implementation in the production process. • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, or machine parameters for each job. • Program machines on shop‑floor terminals or personal computers. • Perform work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. • Follow up on inquiries promptly. • Identify common construction materials and shop equipment. • Build relationships and collaborate within internal and external teams.

What You Bring
The work environment is a maintenance facility where employees may be exposed to varying temperatures, moving equipment, noise, and exhaust fumes. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at projected heights and in narrow spaces, and may involve non‑traditional hours, overtime, and occasional use of a respirator. • Career path: CNC Programmer 2. • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. • High School Diploma or GED (preferred) or equivalent relevant experience. • Apprentice, vocational, technical, or trade training (preferred). • 0‑2 years of machine maintenance, operation, or programming experience (preferred).
