About the Role

The position is based on-site in Kansas City, MO, responsible for operating and maintaining the mechanical, electrical, and building infrastructure of a mission‑critical data center. The incumbent ensures continuous 100 % uptime by monitoring systems, performing installations, repairs, preventive maintenance, and overseeing vendor work while adhering to critical environment policies. • Operate and maintain all mechanical, electrical, and building systems in a mission‑critical data center. • Monitor equipment continuously to achieve 100 % uptime. • Install, repair, and service electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and control equipment both inside and outside the facility. • Perform routine assessments, testing, and data analysis to verify system performance. • Execute self‑performed repairs and maintenance, excluding major OEM teardown tasks. • Oversee vendor and contractor preventive maintenance and repair activities. • Follow critical environment management policies, procedures, and protocols. • Comply with supervisor instructions to protect critical loads and ensure uninterrupted site operation.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED with technical training, possess relevant licenses (Operating Engineer, Universal CFC), and have at least five years of experience in a technical, mission‑critical environment. Strong communication skills, proficiency with MS Office, and the ability to read design documents and troubleshoot a wide range of systems—including power, HVAC, fire safety, and digital security—are required. Desired certifications include the Certified Mission Critical Operator (CMCO) and experience with energized equipment and DCIM platforms. • Hold a High School diploma/GED with technical training and applicable licenses (Operating Engineer, Universal CFC). • Minimum five years of experience in technical, mission‑critical operations; CMCO certification is preferred. • Ability to read and interpret design and construction documents, and to troubleshoot systems such as UPS, generators, HVAC, fire‑life safety, BMS, and security infrastructure.
