About the Role
The Grill Cook performs culinary duties while maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work environment. The role ensures guests receive the highest standards of food taste and presentation, helps train new staff to meet HGVC standards, orders food stock, prepares backup stock and prep according to menu specifications, and demonstrates commitment to the service culture toward guests and team members at all times. The Grill Cook oversees grill and pantry operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and cleanliness while managing inventory and supporting special projects as needed. • Track meal‑prep components to ensure timely dish completion • Chop and prep vegetables and non‑meat ingredients; verify freshness • Prepare, season, and cook starches, vegetables, and side dishes per recipes • Prepare and stock backup foods; keep kitchen areas clean • Clean and store food areas properly at shift end per health standards • Ticket and date food items with employee name; manage stocked inventory • Record refrigeration and sanitizer temperatures; report food loss • Oversee grill and pantry operations, delivering quality food to specifications • Perform stewarding duties: wash pots, pans, utensils, and serving equipment • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment • Sanitize work areas, handle trash and boxes, and keep refrigerators clean • Assist with monthly inventory counts • Execute special projects or reasonable requests from management
