About the Role
The Permit Coordinator prepares and submits building permit packages, coordinates fee payments, and serves as the primary liaison between Sunrun and local jurisdiction officials. This role works closely with internal teams to resolve comments and authority‑having‑jurisdiction (AHJ) corrections, while keeping stakeholders informed of permit status to meet branch and corporate goals. • Prepare, submit, and track permit packages according to jurisdictional requirements. • Coordinate payment and reimbursement of permit fees following company guidelines. • Collaborate with internal teams and jurisdiction staff to resolve comments and AHJ corrections. • Advocate for Sunrun to streamline permit processes with local authorities. • Update and maintain the AHJ database with current permitting requirements. • Schedule customer appointments, obtain signatures, finalize paperwork, and collect payments. • Organize completed paperwork and ensure compliant, secure payment processing. • Prepare project documentation for construction teams. • Utilize software systems to record task progress. • Maintain professional appearance and interaction. • Operate office equipment and travel as required.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, have at least one year of field construction experience, and possess a clean driving record. Strong communication, organizational, and customer‑service skills are essential, as is proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and workflow management platforms. The position involves prolonged desk work, extensive driving, and the physical ability to perform tasks such as stooping, standing, bending, lifting, and using office equipment. Travel to construction sites and warehouses may be required, and safety protocols must be followed at all times. • High School diploma or equivalent required. • Minimum 1 year of field construction experience. • Construction permitting experience preferred. • Exposure to PV design and installation processes required for senior roles. • Maintain a clear driving record and pass a background check. • Be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license. • Regional expeditor/permitting licenses preferred but not mandatory. • Exhibit excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills. • Show strong organizational and time‑management abilities. • Proficient with Google Suite, MS Excel, MS Word, and workflow platforms. • Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and perform various job‑site tasks.
