About the Role
The Manager, Business Development is tasked with improving Pepper’s market position in Madison, Wisconsin and driving sustainable revenue growth. Reporting to the location’s project director, this strategically focused, externally oriented role generates business opportunities, builds key customer relationships, and supports project pursuit efforts. The manager works closely with operational business leaders, marketing staff, and other internal teams to increase sales opportunities and successfully land pursuits, thereby expanding market share in the Madison area. • Build relationships that generate sales opportunities. • Present optimal business opportunities to meet growth targets. • Develop and implement an annual marketing plan for the office. • Attend senior leadership sales meetings to report prospect status. • Coordinate lead‑generation meetings and collaborate with other subsidiaries. • Track client and market data in the customer tracking database. • Lead participation in organizations, meetings, and events to expand networks. • Partner with marketing to prepare qualifications, proposals, and presentations. • Work with communications on client activities and exit interviews for the local market. • Monitor customer satisfaction with services and personnel.

What You Bring
Candidates must possess strong communication abilities, a passion for the Madison market, and an understanding of construction trends. A bachelor’s degree with an AEC or business emphasis is preferred, along with extensive industry experience—10 years in construction or 7 years in business development or a comparable role. The position is salaried and non‑commissionable.
