About the Role
Reporting to senior project and delivery managers, the Project Manager will be accountable for the financial performance of the project portfolio, producing performance reports and participating in monthly financial reviews while supporting new business opportunities. • Manage end‑to‑end delivery of AMP 8 projects, including pre‑construction, construction, commissioning and handover. • Lead and develop project teams, handling recruitment, retention and staff performance. • Build and maintain key relationships with Severn Trent Water and internal technical/non‑technical teams. • Produce programme schedules, risk registers, financial updates, health & safety and environmental performance reports. • Ensure compliance with NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations and company quality, safety and environmental standards. • Review and assess subcontractor RAMS, oversee procurement of plant, materials and specialist subcontractors. • Prepare contract documentation, variation pricing, final accounts and tender evaluations for sub‑contracts. • Interpret technical drawings and specifications, coordinating with suppliers, specialist subcontractors and site teams. • Participate in Galliford Try’s ‘Be Well’ wellbeing programme, Agile Working flexibility and extensive training pathways.

What You Bring
Galliford Try is seeking an experienced Project Manager for its Environment Business to lead Design & Build projects under the Severn Trent AMP 8 framework in the Nottinghamshire region. The role involves overseeing multiple concurrent sites and ensuring delivery in line with company standards. Successful candidates will hold an ONC/HNC/B.Eng or equivalent, possess NEC contract experience and a background in the water industry, supported by IOSH, SMSTS, CSCS and strong Microsoft Office skills. They must demonstrate leadership, effective communication and the ability to prioritize workloads in a high‑pressure environment. • Hold an ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent, with NEC contract experience and water industry background. • Possess IOSH or CITB SMSTS certification, CSCS card and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. • Demonstrate strong communication, decision‑making, time‑management and a proactive “can‑do” attitude. • Exhibit organisational, ethical and stakeholder‑influence skills aligned with company values.
