Job Highlights
About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclables to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities once legal load capacity is reached. Commercial drivers handle container pick‑ups, often maneuvering 1,000‑plus‑pound containers, while residential drivers collect household waste in congested neighborhoods. Roll‑off drivers load and transport large open‑top or compactor containers, navigating tight industrial routes and performing skilled backing maneuvers across all roles. • Operate vehicles in compliance with WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, property damage, and service interruptions to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Attend required trainings, briefings, and meetings; collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency. • Communicate customer requests, dump receptacles, and leave sites clean and debris‑free. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist other drivers as needed.

What You Bring
• Required: minimum 1 year of CDL‑qualified driving (or equivalent military) within the last 7 years; age 18+; legal work eligibility; Class A or B CDL with air‑brake endorsement. • Preferred: High School Diploma or GED. • Physical tasks include standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.
