About the Role

The Engineering Co‑op Student provides mechanical and/or electrical design support in the development of new components and products, as well as improving the performance, reliability, and cost of existing ones. This role translates high‑level design concepts from design engineers and new product development teams into detailed part drawings and specifications, and leads testing activities. Through this work, the student gains hands‑on experience and coaching in motor design principles and applications. Major responsibilities include performing testing to support customer requests, supporting manufacturing design or process change requests, and using and interpreting analytical and test equipment. The co‑op will work with global cross‑functional teams, participate in development projects by executing design and documentation, and lead design‑change investigations. Additional duties involve creating test plans with mechanical design teams, managing the 3‑D printer (loading files, materials, maintenance), and documenting layout, detail, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials, Engineering Change Orders, and design records. • Perform testing to support customer requests and inquiries. • Support manufacturing design and process change requests. • Operate and interpret analytical and test equipment. • Collaborate with global cross‑functional teams. • Execute design and documentation for development projects. • Lead design‑change investigations. • Create test plans with mechanical design teams. • Manage 3‑D printer operations, including loading files, materials, and maintenance. • Document layout, detail, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials, Engineering Change Orders, and design records. • Prioritize tasks, create action plans, and manage resources effectively.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field, with a GPA of 3.0 or above and basic 3‑D modeling knowledge in SolidWorks. No prior experience is required, but strong listening, communication, technical comprehension, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills are essential. The student must demonstrate a self‑directed work ethic, a positive can‑do attitude, the ability to create specific action plans, prioritize time and resources, and possess advanced relationship and team‑building abilities. • Pursue a Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering with a GPA ≥ 3.0. • Possess basic SolidWorks 3‑D modeling skills. • Demonstrate strong listening, communication, and technical comprehension. • Apply critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities. • Exhibit a self‑directed work ethic and positive can‑do attitude. • Build advanced relationships and team‑building skills. • No travel required; fluent English proficiency.
