About the Role

The Multifamily Assistant Property Manager maintains apartment communities to a market‑ready standard while providing a high level of service. This role also builds and motivates high‑performing teams to maximize property performance. The position is confidential‑location, requires an on‑site schedule from Monday to Saturday, pays $26.00–$27.00 per hour, and includes eligibility for benefits and additional earnings. Key duties involve ensuring the smooth operation of the community in a fast‑paced environment and assisting the Property Manager with overall operations such as maintenance, capital improvements, lease administration, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, evictions, vacancy anticipation, marketing, lease renewals, service contracts, expense control, and audits. The Assistant Property Manager also provides superior customer service and communication to residents and prospects to enhance satisfaction, renewals, revenue, reputation, and profitability. The role is responsible for completing lease and renewal paperwork to company standards, tracking advertising performance and client traffic, and upholding the Cushman & Wakefield mission. Additionally, the Assistant Property Manager supports day‑to‑day on‑site team operations, ensuring compliance with all Cushman & Wakefield policies and procedures. Staff management includes interviewing, hiring, and coaching on‑site personnel to maintain an effective team, while maintaining resident files in accordance with company standards. The Assistant Property Manager fosters a positive living environment through prompt conflict resolution and consistent follow‑up, manages the community budget and finances, and collaborates with leasing staff to meet leasing and marketing goals. • Ensure smooth daily operations of the multifamily community, including maintenance, capital projects, and leasing activities. • Assist Property Manager with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, evictions, and vacancy management. • Deliver superior customer service to residents and prospects to boost satisfaction, renewals, and revenue. • Complete lease and renewal paperwork in compliance with company standards. • Track advertising performance and lead traffic to optimize marketing efforts. • Recruit, hire, train, and coach on‑site staff while enforcing company policies. • Maintain resident files and resolve conflicts promptly to preserve a positive living environment. • Manage community budgets, expenses, and financial reporting. • Collaborate with leasing team to achieve leasing and marketing targets. • Identify leasing opportunities and set performance goals for staff.

What You Bring

Required competencies include effective communication, strong customer service, computer literacy (Microsoft Office and internet navigation), and general office, bookkeeping, and sales skills. The position requires the ability to determine leasing opportunities, set performance goals, supervise daily team operations, and manage a team, while performing any other related duties as assigned. Education requirements are a high school diploma, GED, or technical/vocational school certificate; a bachelor's degree is preferred. Candidates must have at least three years of onsite multifamily property management experience (including leasing, resident support, and delinquency), one year as an Assistant Property Manager, and preferably experience with Yardi systems; bilingual Spanish fluency is also preferred. The work environment is a professional office setting using standard equipment and may involve travel between properties in varying weather conditions. Physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods, climbing stairs or ladders, the ability to lift or move up to 25 lb, and up to 15 % travel time. • Demonstrate effective communication, computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Yardi), and sales/bookkeeping skills. • Hold a high school diploma/GED (technical or vocational); bachelor's degree preferred. • Possess 3+ years onsite multifamily property management experience and 1+ year as Assistant Property Manager. • Bilingual Spanish fluency and Yardi system experience preferred. • Available to work on‑site MON‑SAT schedule with up to 15% travel. • Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb, and work in various weather conditions.
