About the Role
The manager will own project scope, schedule, budget, and business development for medium‑to‑large initiatives while overseeing teams of four to more than twenty professionals. You will act as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within or below budget, and in line with contractual obligations. Supervising Parsons staff, you will also nurture relationships with key subcontractors throughout program execution. Your understanding of client goals will guide scope changes, new contracts, and regulatory compliance. This role integrates execution of existing work with development of new projects. • Lead design/build projects for roadway, bridge, or rail/transit clients in the DC/VA region. • Oversee project scope, schedule, budget and drive business development for medium to large contracts. • Manage multidisciplinary teams of 4‑20+ engineers and coordinate with subcontractors. • Serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring compliance with contracts and regulations.

What You Bring
We are hiring a Senior Project Manager with design/build expertise for our DC or VA office to lead roadway, bridge, rail/transit, or construction projects for DDOT, VDOT, or MDOT clients. The role focuses on technical innovation, collaboration, and external industry engagement. We seek a leader who inspires growth, open communication, and embraces diversity. As a Project Manager at Parsons you will have authority, responsibility, and the support of a top engineering team. The ideal candidate has 15+ years of experience managing large‑scale design and construction projects in roadway, bridge, or rail/transit, with a proven record in design/build delivery. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field is required, along with a Professional Engineer (PE) license; PMP certification is preferred. Experience with MDOT, VDOT, or DDOT projects is essential, and no security clearance is needed. This background equips you to lead complex programs within our Critical Infrastructure team. • Minimum 15 years of large‑scale design and construction management experience, with design/build expertise. • Hold a BS in Engineering, a Professional Engineer (PE) license; PMP certification preferred. • Prior experience with MDOT, VDOT, or DDOT projects required.
