Compactor Technician / Senior Welder - 1st Shift

About the Role
The role involves performing preventive maintenance inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding major components on compactors and containers, ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective repair or replacement of parts. • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections, diagnose and repair compactors, containers, and carts. • Perform moderate to complex welding (arc, gas, aluminum, brazing, plastic, and soft solder) on various materials. • Document repairs using fleet maintenance software, tracking parts usage and labor time. • Execute safety checks and maintain compliance with OSHA standards. • Respond to service calls for compactor repairs and emergency breakdowns. • Perform metal and plastic fabrication tasks such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, and notching. • Set up layouts, dimensions, and tolerances; develop fixtures for custom units and select optimal welding processes. • Estimate time and material costs, requisition new parts, and inspect quality of supplier repairs or rebuilds. • Provide guidance and supervision to lower‑level maintenance personnel and act as container maintenance supervisor when needed.

Benefits
The Compactor Technician / Senior Welder position on the 1st shift offers a starting pay of $43.76 per hour with weekly payroll. Candidates should have at least two years of solid electrical experience, hydraulic repair skills, and proficiency in MIG and stick welding.
