About the Role

The Shift Lead, Material Recycling Facility (MRF) reports to an Operations Supervisor or Manager and is tasked with guiding recycling center staff to perform all duties in line with the Company’s safety and compliance standards as well as federal and state regulations. This role also provides operational support and coordination throughout the recycling center. Key responsibilities include overseeing inventory control, quality control, staffing, and inbound tip floor management while directing sorters and other operations staff. The Shift Lead ensures compliance with all safety rules, conducts daily equipment inspections, maintains facility cleanliness, and works to increase production by minimizing downtime and providing training. Additionally, the role requires distinguishing and properly sorting various types of recyclables such as plastics, glass, aluminum, and paper. • Oversee inventory, quality control, staffing, and tip floor operations • Direct sorters and other recycling center personnel • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies • Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintain facility cleanliness • Increase production by reducing downtime and providing training • Identify and sort various recyclables (plastics, glass, aluminum, paper) • Operate Harris baler and skid steer equipment

What You Bring

Candidates must have prior supervisory experience, at least two years as a lead sorter, and a commercial driver’s license. Experience with equipment maintenance, the ability to operate a Harris baler and skid steer, and strong customer‑service, time‑management, and follow‑through skills are essential. Demonstrated commitment to safety policies, company standards, and a sense of pride in one’s work are also required. A minimum of one year of related experience in equipment operation or recycling is required. The position offers a pay range of $21.75 to $29.92 per hour, depending on locality, and includes eligibility for the company’s bonus and benefits programs. • Prior supervisory experience with at least 2 years as a lead sorter • Commercial driver's license and equipment maintenance expertise • Strong customer service, time management, and follow‑through abilities • Minimum of 1 year related experience in equipment operation or recycling
