About the Role

The Senior Superintendent will plan, manage and execute all aspects of significantly complex or multiple projects, leading the team, planning construction sequencing and meeting project goals to achieve timely and profitable completion while supporting JE Dunn’s strategy, vision and values. • Lead safety culture, demonstrate commitment to an injury‑free environment, investigate incidents and retrain staff. • Manage subcontractors and overall job workflow. • Oversee staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and Safety, Quality, and EEO programs for small or major project portions. • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self‑performed work. • Coordinate and manage care, custody, and control of the project site. • Lead daily stand‑up and weekly trade meetings. • Attend, manage, and participate in progress and OAC meetings. • Create, manage, change, and implement project schedule with the Project Manager. • Track and monitor project budget and costs using the project management system. • Communicate key project information to owners, design team, authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and other departments. • Follow project filing and documentation system; update drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks. • Approve or record unit cost information for weekly reports; complete daily reports, logs, and tracking reports. • Evaluate progress on self‑perform work and adjust as needed. • Manage material and equipment needs for the project. • Support MOC and DLSC procurement and approval processes. • Assist in selection of formwork, tools, and equipment for self‑perform operations. • Manage timecard approval process to ensure accurate hours and proper cost codes. • Ensure quality compliance through specifications, quality standards, in‑house QA/QC, and external resources. • Support project closeouts by supervising pre‑punch activities and coordinating with owner, architect, and authorities. • Participate with field operations leadership and project team to develop and adjust a project pre‑plan throughout the lifecycle. • Partner with field leadership to establish field staffing for assigned projects. • Partner with project management to identify schedule and cost impacts of project changes. • Participate in negotiations with owners and architects to gain agreement on project changes. • Prepare and present at all project review meetings, including monthly reviews. • Participate in project buy‑out meetings with subcontractors and vendors. • Apply terms and conditions of owner and subcontractor contracts. • Identify and recruit top talent. • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion and implement JE Dunn’s non‑discrimination policy. • Manage complex standalone or multiple projects from planning to completion. • Manage projects with multiple superintendents. • Influence and manage delivery results through others. • Execute key strategic initiatives supporting company strategy. • Provide training and education for company or regional initiatives. • Engage in business, industry, and community activities to strengthen external relationships. • Lead the project team in the pursuit process. • Collaborate with marketing on presentations and related activities. • Develop new business opportunities and generate future work by maintaining long‑term client relationships. • Assume responsibility for management, scheduling, production, safety, and quality on projects or portions thereof. • Identify, understand, and actively manage project risks. • Manage deliverables from internal resources such as IPS, logistics, etc. • Build relationships with team members beyond the project. • Must work non‑traditional hours to meet project needs.

• Understand the project pursuit process and methodology. • Use experience to identify problems and recommend solutions for team review and implementation. • Perform work accurately, completely, and timely. • Advanced verbal and written communication skills; advanced presentation ability. • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office. • Apply construction management fundamentals to projects. • Thorough knowledge of project processes supporting successful completion. • Intermediate proficiency in project management and accounting software. • Advanced proficiency in JE Dunn construction technology. • Intermediate proficiency in scheduling software. • Intermediate ability to apply Lean process and philosophy. • Advanced knowledge of specific trades, scopes, self‑perform, and labor productivity. • Advanced ability to manage budgets, maximize profitability, and generate future work through relationships. • Knowledge of organizational structure, resources, layout skills, crane flagging, and rigging. • Ability to understand document changes and schedule impact. • Ability to collaborate internally and externally. • High School Diploma or GED required. • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred. • 10+ years construction experience. • 8+ years field supervision experience. • 6+ years pharma/biopharma project experience preferred. • Experience leading Lean principles on projects preferred. • Valid unrestricted driver’s license required. • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds. • Frequent activities: standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling. • Occasional activities: sitting, viewing computer screen.
