Job Highlights
About the Role
The designer will perform transmission line design using PLS‑CADD and PLS‑POLE, develop project drawings and documentation such as plans, profiles, bills of material, assembly and foundation details, and apply RRC, client, and industry standards to ensure designs meet specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities also include contributing to internal design procedures, mentoring junior designers and technicians, and occasional site visits. • Perform transmission line design in PLS‑CADD and PLS‑POLE (wood, steel, concrete). • Develop project drawings and documentation, including plans, profiles, bills of material, assembly and foundation details. • Interpret and apply RRC, client, and industry standards to ensure designs meet specifications and quality criteria. • Contribute to internal design procedures and mentor/train designers and technicians. • Occasionally conduct project site visits. • Lead a team of designers/technicians and collaborate closely with engineering staff. • Perform foundation design using FAD Tools and/or LPile.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold an associate or technical school degree (or equivalent experience) and have at least five years of transmission line engineering design experience, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and PLS‑CADD/POLE. Knowledge of design codes like NESC, RUS, and ASCE 7, as well as material procurement and construction work packages, is required. Leadership ability, excellent communication, attention to detail, and authorization to work full‑time in the United States are essential, while a Round Rock, TX location is considered favorably. • Minimum 5 years of transmission line engineering design experience; associate/technical degree or equivalent. • Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and PLS‑CADD/POLE. • Knowledge of NESC, RUS, ASCE 7, material procurement processes, and construction work packages. • Experience with 345 kV+ transmission line voltages and underground medium to extra‑high voltage designs (preferred). • Authorized to work full‑time in the United States.
