About the Role
CoStar provides real‑time, verified commercial real‑estate data that helps clients identify opportunities and make informed decisions ahead of competitors. The Analytics team builds customer‑facing Real Estate Analytics products, leveraging the company’s extensive research data to deliver fast, reliable, and intuitive data‑intensive applications. The Lead Software Engineer will drive the full‑lifecycle development of a critical analytics product, taking ownership from design through production support. This role is based in San Diego, working on‑site Monday through Thursday with a remote Friday. • Design, build, test, and deploy scalable, reusable applications that handle large data volumes. • Collaborate with engineers, product owners, designers, and leadership on feature delivery. • Serve as a trusted advisor on technical architecture, design decisions, and code quality. • Promote continuous improvement by exploring new technologies, tools, and best practices. • Develop deep understanding of CoStar’s analytics products and overall business.

What You Bring
• Own development work from coding through production support and maintenance. • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, in‑person institution. • 10+ years of professional software development experience. • Strong Object‑Oriented Programming skills with expertise in C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, Web API, and Node. • Proficiency with relational databases, especially SQL Server. • Experience with software development best practices: code reviews, source control, CI/CD, testing, and operations. • Source‑control experience using Git or TFS. • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (preferred). • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. • Familiarity with NoSQL databases like Redis or Neo4j (plus). • Knowledge of modern front‑end frameworks (JavaScript, React) (plus).
