About the Role

The IT Application Manager will be responsible for aligning applications with the enterprise architecture and global IT domains, maintaining master service agreements for third‑party applications, and keeping the configuration management database up to date using ServiceNow. The role also owns the local instance of global application backup, ensures compliance with backup policies, and fulfills local security and internal control requirements. Key operational duties include providing L1/L2 support for global application issues, performing periodic audits and health checks, adhering to ITIL processes for change, incident and problem management, and supporting vulnerability management initiatives. The manager will work with cross‑functional teams to develop remediation strategies, monitor industry trends, conduct risk assessments, and ensure effective service delivery and incident/request management. Additional responsibilities cover monitoring application health, onboarding new services, preparing solution design and user documentation, managing application decommissioning, and ensuring compliance with external and internal regulations. The role embodies Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions while caring for colleagues and the business. • Align applications with IT Enterprise Architecture and Global IT Domains. • Maintain master service agreements for third‑party applications. • Update and maintain CMDB information using ServiceNow. • Own local backup/extract instance and ensure 100 % compliance with backup policies. • Fulfill local security requirements and internal control activities (ICoFR, BOA). • Provide L1/L2 support for global application issues and critical month‑end activities. • Conduct periodic audits, health checks, and risk assessments for application stability. • Follow ITIL processes for change, incident, and problem management. • Support vulnerability management, identify risks, and collaborate on remediation (e.g., patching). • Monitor industry trends and emerging threats to enhance security posture. • Ensure effective service delivery, incident and request management per organizational standards. • Monitor application health, manage onboarding of new services, and oversee decommissioning. • Create and maintain solution design documents, application information, and user guides. • Ensure compliance with external regulations, internal procedures, and Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity values.

What You Bring

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field and have at least five years of experience as an IT Application Manager or in a similar role handling custom, COTS or SaaS applications. Required skills include functional‑domain knowledge (e.g., Finance, HR, Legal), understanding of software development lifecycles, basic Windows/Linux and database familiarity, proficiency with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, strong analytical and communication abilities, knowledge of ITIL and cybersecurity best practices, and fluency in spoken and written English.
