About the Role

The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician supports the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems, installing automated packaging and distribution equipment, and mentoring junior technicians to develop their skills. • Follow all safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment. • Perform preventative maintenance routines and document actions. • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues on material handling equipment such as belts, motors, photo‑eyes, and relays. • Install, maintain, and service automated packaging and distribution equipment. • Mentor junior technicians and support their skill development. • Track and manage department inventory using a CMMS. • Lift and move items up to 49 lb; stand or walk for shifts up to 12 hours. • Perform repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and walking. • Work in confined spaces, dust, fumes, noise, extreme temperatures, and on concrete surfaces for extended periods. • Operate at heights, push/pull equipment up to 100 lb, and maneuver bulky parts.

What You Bring

Based on‑site in Calgary, AB, the role requires flexible schedules—including weekends, nights, and holidays—up to 12‑hour shifts, occasional travel of about 20 % and adherence to safety standards while collaborating across facilities. • Travel up to 20 % of the time for job duties. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Minimum 2 years experience repairing material handling equipment. • Experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures. • Associate degree or higher in mechanical/electrical field (preferred). • 2 + years experience with automated conveyor systems and controls. • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics (1 + year). • Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles (1 + year). • Familiarity with MHE safety standards and OEM guidelines. • Experience with CMMS, robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance. • Ability to troubleshoot basic input/output functions. • Lift parts/tools averaging 20 lb, occasionally up to 49 lb.
