About the Role
KBR manages Army prepositioned stocks at the Army Field Support Battalion – Charleston land site and aboard ship, handling logistics and maintenance operations. The APS‑3 program, executed from Goose Creek, supports the Army’s power‑projection doctrine by maintaining Class II, IIIP, IV, VII, and IX stocks to ensure optimal readiness of equipment stored on marine vessels. The Shop Foreman organizes and coordinates maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as trucks, automobiles, and diesel engines. Responsibilities include using the Computerized Equipment Management System to monitor maintenance, advising and training mechanics, ordering parts, and promoting safety and teamwork. In this role you will act as a first‑line supervisor for a team of 8‑15 mechanics, reporting to the Shop Supervisor. You will lead shift briefings, assign work, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with production schedules, safety policies, and government regulations. • Supervise 8–15 mechanics performing automotive maintenance on military vehicles and trailers. • Lead shift meetings to assign work, track progress, and ensure production schedules are met. • Coach, mentor, and train team members; also perform maintenance tasks as needed. • Plan, organize, and oversee day‑to‑day shop activities and implement training requirements. • Establish and monitor production standards, recommending operational improvements. • Ensure compliance with safety policies, government regulations, and OSHA requirements. • Track and care for government‑furnished vehicles, tools, and property. • Enforce department and program policies; recommend personnel actions. • Promote zero‑harm safety culture and use technical references and quality checklists. • Present completed work to customers for acceptance inspections and address quality trends.

What You Bring
Candidates must be U.S. citizens with a valid passport, possess a State driver’s license, and obtain a Common Access Card. Required qualifications include a combination of some college and military maintenance MOS training, at least eight years of progressive leadership experience, strong automotive maintenance background, and proficiency in MS Office. Physical requirements involve standing 2‑3 hours, walking 4‑5 hours, lifting up to 50 lb periodically, and performing tasks such as squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and climbing in indoor and outdoor, non‑climate‑controlled environments. • U.S. citizen with valid passport, State driver’s license, and ability to obtain CAC. • Minimum 8 years progressive leadership experience in automotive/maintenance plus some college or military training. • Strong background in automotive maintenance of military equipment. • Excellent written and oral communication, planning, and time‑management skills. • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with GCSS‑Army and quality management systems preferred. • Physical ability to stand 2‑3 hrs, walk 4‑5 hrs, lift 35‑50 lb, squat/kneel, and work in non‑climate‑controlled environments.
