About the Role
The Project Surveyor will analyze and prepare complete boundary surveys, perform quality-control reviews of reports and specifications, and compute layouts for subdivisions, roads, lots, buildings, and utilities. Supporting staff in report preparation, coordinating field and office teams, and developing work plans are also key duties. The role includes providing direction, monitoring performance of staff and sub-consultants, and may involve supervising survey technicians. • Conduct comprehensive boundary surveys using record data and advanced geospatial technology. • Perform quality-control reviews of reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates. • Compute layouts for subdivisions, roads, lots, buildings, and utilities. • Assist in preparing reports, findings, plans, and other contract documents. • Coordinate field and office staff to complete design and field tasks on complex projects. • Develop project and task work plans and provide direction to staff. • Monitor performance of assigned staff, sub-consultants, and contractors; supervise survey technicians as needed.

The role combines advanced geospatial scanning and traditional techniques to deliver precise, reliable data for transformative regional projects. Candidates should have an associate degree or equivalent technical experience, with at least five years of related surveying work. Preferred credentials include LSIT or PLS certification and advanced proficiency in Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and MicroStation. A strong grasp of surveying instruments, measurement systems, data techniques, and a valid driver’s license are required. • Associate degree or equivalent technical experience; 5+ years in surveying. • LSIT or PLS certification preferred. • Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and MicroStation. • Strong knowledge of surveying instruments, techniques, and angular/linear measurement systems. • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
