About the Role

This position is responsible for establishing strategic project‑control frameworks, approving budgets, leading risk workshops, and ensuring quality delivery of cross‑functional controls. It also involves developing reporting protocols, guiding chartering and partnering guidelines, and integrating risk, cost‑reduction and diversity compliance processes throughout the project lifecycle. • Set strategic direction for cost, risk, and schedule management. • Oversee project budget approval. • Lead risk workshops to identify and mitigate risks. • Coordinate cross‑functional project‑control deliverables. • Provide clear goals to motivate the team. • Facilitate weekly team meetings to track progress. • Produce regular project reporting. • Prepare gateway and approval documentation. • Define guidelines for project chartering and partnering. • Review master schedule for sequencing and critical path. • Recommend budget, cash flow, and financial plan. • Lead overall risk management process. • Develop work plan for Project Execution Plan (PEP). • Review and approve implementation plans from PMCM teams. • Manage estimating, asset costing, and contingency methodology. • Create change‑management and impact mitigation strategies. • Establish controls to ensure performance against baselines. • Set protocols for diversity compliance, monitoring, reporting. • Define metrics for progress reporting and forecasting. • Develop cost‑reduction guidelines and review recommendations. • Evaluate project‑level diversity recommendations. • Review construction progress and approve recovery plans. • Assess claims resolution recommendations. • Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve consensus. • Maintain ongoing risk process and Monte Carlo analyses. • Expand intake deliverables for stronger business cases. • Design end‑to‑end process from intake to closeout with feedback loops. • Integrate intake, cost, and schedule reporting holistically. • Lead Project Controls Team with quality assurance. • Ensure compliance with SOX controls where applicable. • Promote a healthy, flexible work environment supporting work‑life balance.

The firm is seeking an experienced Director‑Project Controls to lead project‑controls services for major client accounts. The role involves guiding high‑level strategic direction, overseeing cost, risk and schedule management, and supporting broader business initiatives. The successful candidate will manage and develop a high‑performing project‑controls team. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in construction‑related fields, with a graduate degree preferred, and bring at least 12 years of project‑controls experience, including two years of leadership in a consulting environment. Required expertise includes multiple contract delivery methods, advanced scheduling and cost‑control tools (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel), and strong analytical, communication and leadership skills. • Bachelor’s degree in construction, cost management, quantity surveying or engineering (preferred graduate degree). • 12+ years of project‑controls experience. • 2+ years leading high‑performing project‑control teams in consulting. • Knowledge of various contract delivery methods. • Proven track record in scheduling, cost control, estimating, and risk management. • Experience implementing project‑controls systems for major capital projects. • Ability to set and monitor project baselines and performance metrics. • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and advanced Excel. • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with data‑driven insights. • Understanding of regulatory, industry standards and compliance frameworks. • Demonstrated leadership and team‑motivation abilities. • Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
