About the Role

The Divisional Legal Manager will run the Divisional Legal Centre, handling the disposal of roughly 10,500 plots per year, part exchanges and associated resales. The role oversees a team of ten conveyancers, supported by an Assistant Divisional Legal Manager, and delivers an efficient plot conveyancing service to three regional Business Units while maintaining high‑quality internal and external customer service. Key duties include inspiring and leading the in‑house conveyancing team, ensuring resources are right‑sized, and improving departmental performance. Responsibilities cover the preparation of legal packs, infrastructure agreements, land transfers, surplus land sales, lease extensions, and historic enquiry documents, as well as providing proactive legal advice, attending development meetings, and monitoring compliance with internal policies. • Manage the Divisional Legal Centre and oversee disposal of ~10,500 plots annually, including part exchanges and resales. • Lead a team of ten conveyancers and an Assistant Divisional Legal Manager to deliver efficient plot conveyancing for three Business Units. • Prepare legal packs, infrastructure agreements, land transfers, surplus land sales, freehold reversions, management agreements, lease extensions, and historic enquiry documents. • Provide proactive legal advice and attend business unit meetings to prepare sales packs and monitor contract exchange/completion targets. • Ensure staff receive managerial support, training, and professional development appropriate to their roles. • Monitor compliance with internal policies and promote the in‑house legal function as a best‑practice service.

What You Bring

Candidates must be a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer with a strong track record in property law and residential estate conveyancing. Experience managing large teams in a fast‑paced environment, dealing with house‑builder legal issues, and demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills are essential, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. • Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer with strong property law and residential estate conveyancing experience. • Proven experience managing large teams in a fast‑paced environment, driving staff motivation and development. • Experience handling house‑builder legal issues. • Excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
