Programme Director

About the Role

The position leads the development of strategic delivery plans, influences strategy implementation, manages key stakeholder relationships and resources, and ensures company objectives are met in line with compliance, regulatory frameworks and commercial best practices. • Lead coordination and delivery of a major programme, aligning with vision and objectives • Define and implement the programme delivery environment, including people, processes and technology • Assemble the right project team with necessary skills and external specialist appointments • Optimize resources to improve performance against the bid baseline • Serve as primary executive‑team contact, ensuring governance and organisational support • Manage client relationships, communication and constructive challenge • Chair executive steering group meetings as the public face of the programme • Maintain exceptional safety, quality, cost, schedule, sustainability, governance, risk and compliance standards • Oversee creation and maintenance of programme documentation and lessons learned • Foster a high‑performing, inclusive team culture encouraging contribution and recognition • Promote quality and service excellence in all programme interactions • Implement effective risk management strategies and treatments • Align programme activities with broader business strategy and initiatives • Leverage Centres of Excellence and share knowledge across the organisation • Ensure commercial and ethical viability, meeting business objectives and compliance obligations • Build and sustain internal and external stakeholder relationships to drive growth • Provide thought leadership in programme management and execution • Champion safety behaviours, lessons learned and Mace’s HSW framework • Contribute to net‑zero carbon transition by managing carbon emissions during delivery
