About the Role
The role requires regular pre‑ and post‑trip equipment inspections, compliance with WM safety rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws, and prompt reporting of unsafe situations, incidents, or service interruptions to management or dispatch. Drivers participate in scheduled training, collaborate with operations managers to improve route efficiency, and complete required documentation at the end of each day. • Operates vehicle in accordance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and all local, municipal, state, and federal laws. • Performs pre‑ and post‑trip inspections of assigned equipment and documents checks on the standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR). • Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service‑related issues to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required by WM or the Operations Manager. • Works closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices. • Notifies the Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage. • Alerts Operations Manager or Dispatch to service interruptions such as blocked containers, closed lots, street or alleyway hazards. • Communicates customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Completes and submits customer tickets as required. • Conducts site evaluations to ensure locations are conducive for safe and proper servicing. • Positions and/or returns containers on customer property, ensuring lids and doors are properly replaced and do not block driveways or traffic. • Follows assigned route plans and completes end‑of‑day documentation and checkout procedures. • Performs all scheduled duties and assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

What You Bring
The Driver Container safely operates a heavy‑duty crane‑mounted truck, loading and transporting material containers to and from customer locations. Drivers navigate driveways, alleyways, lots, high‑traffic roadways, and may work in tight overhead environments, requiring highly skilled backing maneuvers. Physical demands include frequent handling of objects over 50 lb, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and operating the crane with arm and hand coordination. The work environment is primarily outdoors and in a GPS‑monitored vehicle, exposing drivers to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes. Candidates must hold a valid CDL with an air‑brake endorsement, be at least 18 years old, be legally authorized to work in the United States, and be able to pass DOT drug and physical screenings. A REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative may be required for travel on business. • Possesses at least one year of relevant experience operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent military driving within the past seven years. • Holds a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with an air‑brake endorsement. • Is legally eligible to work in the United States and at least 18 years old. • Can meet the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. • Successfully completes pre‑employment DOT drug screening and physical examination. • Completes classroom training and demonstrates safe crane operation; certification may be required in some states.

Pay is $25.50 per hour and the schedule is Monday‑Friday with a shift starting at 5:30 AM, full‑time.
