About the Role

The engineer will apply technical expertise in municipal water and wastewater process design, civil/structural/mechanical/electrical design, treatment process studies, and construction contract administration. They will also build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with clients, internal teams, and regulatory agencies at local, state, and federal levels. • Lead analysis, design, construction administration, and preparation of technical reports for water and wastewater treatment projects. • Apply municipal process design expertise across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines and manage construction contracts. • Develop and maintain trusted advisor relationships with clients and regulatory agencies. • Work within Freese and Nichols’ LEADS culture, supporting innovative and quality-focused infrastructure solutions.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an environmental emphasis or a bachelor’s in environmental engineering, and have at least four years of relevant experience in plant process evaluation, design, and construction of municipal facilities. Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and sales skills are required, as is a Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one in Texas within one year; a master’s degree in environmental engineering is preferred. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in civil (environmental emphasis) or environmental engineering and 4+ years of plant process evaluation and design experience. • Demonstrate strong written, verbal, presentation, and sales communication skills. • Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license or obtain licensure in Texas within one year; master’s degree in environmental engineering preferred.
