About the Role

The KBR Metrology team provides support for manufacturing, engineering, test, repair, overhaul, and aftermarket service centers worldwide across Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Medical, Safety, Semiconductor, and other sectors. Services include management of embedded metrology systems, calibration and repair, test and inspection, metrology engineering, preventive maintenance, NADCAP special process support, and AMS2750 heat‑treat pyrometry. Teams operate from global laboratories, field service locations, and mobile platforms, ensuring customer systems meet high standards through calibration, preventative maintenance, automation, programming, and audit support. Performance and delivery metrics are tracked via digital dashboards, routine surveys, and direct customer meetings. The Metrology Technician performs routine calibrations, tests, and inspections in‑lab or on‑site using accredited standards, handling day‑to‑day escalations and priority requests. The role may involve both automated and manual procedures and reports to the lead technician and lab manager. Key duties include calibrating and certifying electronic, dimensional, and pressure‑measuring equipment to NIST traceability, repairing torque tools, hand tools, blueprint‑controlled devices, pressure devices, thermo‑hygrometers, scales, load cells, force devices, and weights, and maintaining calibration standards. Technicians record activities in the CMS, generate test reports, and prepare documentation required by customers and regulators, while also assisting entry‑level technicians. • Perform calibration and certification of electronic, dimensional, and pressure measuring equipment to NIST standards. • Calibrate, repair, and maintain torque tools, hand tools, blueprint‑controlled devices, pressure devices, thermo‑hygrometers, scales, load cells, force devices, and weights. • Record maintenance activities in the CMS, generate test reports, and prepare required documentation. • Assist entry‑level technicians in learning measurement procedures and processes. • Utilize common laboratory measuring, calibrating, and testing equipment, both automated and manual. • Apply Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting. • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and sustainable work environment aligned with KBR’s ESG commitments.

What You Bring

Candidates need a high school diploma with three years of relevant experience or an associate’s degree in engineering technology plus three years of experience. Knowledge of voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, time/frequency, signal conditioning, dimensional tooling, pressure controllers, and force gauges is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Preferred experience includes IndySoft, Fluke Met/Team, Met/Track, Met/Cal systems, laboratory measurement equipment, and mass/weight calibration. • Leverage experience with IndySoft, Fluke Met/Team, Met/Track, and Met/Cal systems when available. • Maintain knowledge of voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, time/frequency, signal conditioning, and pressure testing.
