About the Role

The role involves assisting with the application, removal, and repair of insulation on industrial equipment, piping, ductwork, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and other mechanical systems to control noise and maintain temperatures. The employee also supports insulation of buildings, tanks, boilers, steam, hot water, and chilled water piping, and may contribute to other crafts as directed by project supervision. • Assist in applying, removing, and repairing insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork, and related mechanical systems. • Support insulation of buildings, tanks, boilers, steam, hot water, and chilled water piping. • Follow direction from foremen or higher‑skilled workers and collaborate with crew members. • Produce high‑quality work safely and productively, ensuring tools, materials, and information are available. • Identify and implement improvements to reduce waste, rework, and inefficiencies. • Operate insulation tools and equipment safely, adhering to all safety hazards and procedures.

What You Bring

Team members are expected to work safely and productively while maintaining positive relationships with the crew. The position requires adherence to safety standards, effective communication, and a willingness to learn and improve work methods. Applicants should have one to two years of experience in industrial or commercial construction and a general understanding of insulation work. Preferred credentials include NCCER Core Curriculum certification or a high school diploma, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. The job demands physical stamina, including up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures, climbing ladders or scaffolding, and occasional lifting of objects up to 50 lb. Workers must wear required personal protective equipment and be able to navigate confined, cluttered, or uneven work areas while following all safety procedures. • Perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) as required. • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. • 1–2 years experience in industrial/commercial construction with a general understanding of insulation craft. • NCCER Core Curriculum certification or high school diploma (preferred). • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions. • Capable of climbing ladders, scaffolds, and maintaining balance on steel/wood frameworks. • Able to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lb occasionally and perform frequent hand‑on tasks.
