About the Role
The estimator will manage quantity take‑offs, pricing, quality checks, and analysis of contractor or designer estimates, including GMP arrangements. Responsibilities also include estimate reconciliations, change order development, post‑construction cost analysis, budget and invoice management, fee proposal preparation, resource coordination, and mentoring junior estimators. • Perform quantity take‑offs and pricing for multiple trades. • Prepare and present final deliverable documentation to clients. • Conduct quality checks on team members' estimates. • Review and analyze contractor/designer estimates, especially GMP arrangements. • Lead or support estimate reconciliations with clients and contractors. • Develop and review change order requests. • Assist in post‑construction cost analysis. • Manage project budgets and invoices. • Prepare project fee proposals and coordinate estimating resources. • Train and develop junior estimators.

What You Bring
MBP is seeking a Senior Estimator in Raleigh, NC, or the Mid-Atlantic region. The role involves leading a team of estimators on large, complex pre‑construction cost estimating for vertical and/or horizontal construction projects. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Candidates must have significant experience in A/E/C cost estimating, be proficient in reading plans and specifications, and skilled with Microsoft Office and BlueBeam or similar take‑off software. Preferred education is a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent, with certifications such as PE, CCM, CCP, or CEP considered advantageous. Experience in general contracting, construction management, CPM scheduling, value engineering, risk management, constructability review, claims analysis, or contract administration is desired. • Significant cost estimating experience on vertical and/or horizontal construction projects. • Proficiency in reading construction plans/specifications and using BlueBeam or similar take‑off software. • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences. • Preferred certifications: PE, CCM, CCP, CEP. • Desired experience in general contracting, construction management, CPM scheduling, value engineering, risk management, constructability review, claims analysis, or contract administration.
