HVAC Service Technician

About the Role

Key responsibilities include responding quickly to service calls, using advanced diagnostic tools to identify system malfunctions, and performing preventive maintenance such as filter changes, coil inspections, and refrigerant level checks. Technicians will repair or replace defective components, carry out system upgrades or full installations, and ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and applicable codes. Technicians must communicate clearly with customers, explain issues and recommended solutions, and document all service visits, diagnostics, repairs, and parts used in electronic work orders. Safety is paramount, requiring proper handling of refrigerants, adherence to local, state and federal regulations, and collaboration with dispatchers and fellow technicians to optimize routes and share knowledge. • Respond promptly to residential and light commercial service requests. • Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions. • Perform preventive maintenance, including filter changes and coil inspections. • Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, thermostats, and motors. • Conduct system upgrades and full installations according to codes and specifications. • Communicate repair options and maintenance plans clearly to customers. • Document service visits, diagnostics, repairs, and parts used in electronic work orders. • Follow safety procedures for handling refrigerants and ensure code compliance. • Coordinate with dispatchers to optimize service routes and support teammates.

What You Bring

We are seeking a highly skilled, customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to join our team in Cincinnati, OH. The role involves routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. Ideal candidates possess strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to excellent customer service. Candidates need a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of HVAC service experience, a valid EPA certification, and strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical HVAC components. Physical requirements include lifting up to 75 lb, climbing ladders, and working in confined, dusty, hot or noisy environments.
