About the Role
The technician performs a variety of daily maintenance tasks, including preparing apartments for new occupancy, addressing resident service requests, and repairing building systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, and appliances. Additional duties involve carpentry, drywall repair, interior and exterior painting, pool cleaning and chemical monitoring, and routine grounds upkeep such as trash removal and pet waste station maintenance. The employee also participates in preventive maintenance schedules, on‑call rotations, and ensures common areas meet Weidner’s quality standards. • Prepare apartments for occupancy, including painting, drywall repair, trash out, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work • Respond promptly to daily resident service requests • Repair electrical, plumbing, boilers, hot water heaters, HVAC systems, and appliances • Perform carpentry, drywall repairs, and interior/exterior painting, including touch‑ups • Clean pools, monitor chemical balance, and maintain required logs • Conduct daily grounds maintenance: trash removal, pet waste cleanup, and sweeping walkways • Participate in preventive maintenance tasks and on‑call rotation • Ensure market‑ready apartments, common areas, and amenities meet quality standards • Lift and carry up to 80 lb, climb ladders and stairs, and move equipment up to 200 lb • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and remain on feet for entire shift • Follow company policies, Fair Housing regulations, and maintain attendance and uniform standards

What You Bring
The position requires 1–2 years of maintenance experience and a solid mechanical aptitude. Candidates must be able to lift up to 80 lb, climb ladders and stairs, and operate equipment such as appliance dollies, and be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pool maintenance, irrigation, and HVAC systems is essential, and certifications such as HVAC, CPO, EPA, or CAMT are preferred. Strong communication skills are needed to interact with residents, vendors, and team members via in‑person, phone, email, or text. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with property‑management software like Yardi or Paycom is a plus, and the associate must be willing to learn new programs. Employees must adhere to Weidner’s policies, Fair Housing laws, maintain regular attendance, wear the required uniform, and have a valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance. • Apply knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pool, irrigation, and HVAC systems • Obtain or maintain HVAC, CPO, EPA, or CAMT certifications (preferred) • Communicate professionally in person, by phone, email, or text • Use Microsoft Office and learn property‑management software such as Yardi or Paycom • Maintain a valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance for transportation
