About the Role
Key responsibilities include executing repairs and preventive maintenance, diagnosing and fixing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems, and using computer‑based diagnostics to determine failure modes. The role also requires estimating time and material costs, adhering to Standard Repair Times, responding to emergency breakdowns, conducting safety checks, completing paperwork, and assisting senior technicians while maintaining a clean, safe work area in line with OSHA standards. • Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems. • Utilize computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs. • Estimate time and material costs for compactor and container repairs and requisition parts. • Complete all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs). • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls. • Conduct safety checks on compactors and containers. • Document parts usage and repair times on required paperwork. • Assist senior technicians with project work. • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards.

What You Bring
The job has no supervisory duties. Candidates must have at least two years of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, be at least 18 years old, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. Successful applicants must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and physical and be able to meet the physical demands of the role. The work environment involves exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes, and requires motor coordination, frequent handling of objects weighing up to the specified limit, and activities such as pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting. The position offers a pay rate of $20‑$25 per hour, depending on experience, with a work schedule of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and occasional overtime. Under general supervision, the technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs on compactors and containers.
