About the Role

As an Electrician Lead, you will plan, layout, install, and repair wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. The role involves creating or following sketches and blueprints, installing conduit, pulling and splicing wiring, connecting fixtures and power equipment, installing control panels, grounding systems, and testing circuits for safety and functionality. You will also observe system performance, troubleshoot hazards, and repair or replace defective components while maintaining tools and adhering to safety protocols such as LOTO. • Prepare wiring and equipment sketches or follow diagrams/blueprints to ensure concealed wiring is installed before walls, ceilings, and floors are completed. • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaws, pipe threaders, and conduit benders. • Pull wiring through conduit with assistance from a helper. • Splice wires by stripping insulation, twisting or soldering, and secure with tape or terminal caps. • Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools. • Install and fasten control and distribution apparatus (switches, relays, circuit‑breaker panels) with hand or power tools. • Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads. • Test circuit continuity and safety using an ohmmeter, battery, buzzer, or oscilloscope. • Observe installed equipment to identify hazards, needed adjustments, relocations, or replacements. • Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems. • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. • Maintain tools and equipment in good condition. • Identify color codes accurately. • Follow safety procedures such as Lockout‑Tagout (LOTO). • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules; perform other duties as required. • Apply personal judgment to rate information within measurable standards. • Perform rapid and accurate arithmetic operations.

What You Bring

The position requires strong physical capability, including standing, walking, sitting, lifting and carrying up to 30 lb, and pushing or pulling loads of 70 ft‑lb, as well as climbing, balancing, and performing tasks like stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching. Candidates must be able to work at heights, discern color codes, and apply precise judgment in measuring, estimating, and performing arithmetic operations. Independent judgment is expected within established guidelines, and the role demands adaptability to varied duties and strict compliance with safety and project rules. • High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant industrial electrical experience. • Knowledge of common concepts, practices, and procedures; works under supervision with some independent judgment. • Adapt to varied duties that may change frequently. • Interpret 3‑D objects or drawings. • Ability to stand, walk, sit, lift and carry 30 lb, push/pull 70 ft‑lb, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, and finger objects as required.

This long‑term maintenance position with Brown & Root Industrial Services is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and does not include per‑diem compensation. Candidates must pass a pre‑employment background check and physical, and possess at least 36 months of industrial electrical experience.
