About the Role

• Prioritize safety, follow safety protocols and promote a safety‑focused work environment. • Perform proper pruning techniques, including natural and directional pruning for emergency restorations. • Climb trees near energized lines and execute maintenance tasks, excluding the most difficult ones. • Safely remove overhangs and prune around open wire secondary and primary conductors, with assistance as needed. • Use bucket trucks and other equipment to remove trees, prune limbs, and rope sections around energized conductors. • Assist in on‑the‑job training of less experienced climbers and bucket operators. • Join storm restoration crews when required. • Inspect and use personal protective equipment correctly. • Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment. • Follow proper radio and hand‑tool usage and maintenance.

What You Bring

The Trimmer A is a top‑performing climber and trimmer who has demonstrated exceptional performance in lower‑level positions, capable of executing climbing techniques and rigging for pruning and removal tasks with precision and safety. Operating aerial lifts is desirable but not required. The work involves regular exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, fumes and vibrations, requiring the ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and in inclement weather. Physical demands include standing, walking, climbing, lifting over 50 lb, kneeling, crouching and sustained manual labor, with vision requirements for close‑up and distance tasks. The role demands strong teamwork, self‑motivation, ethical behavior, punctuality and excellent communication, supporting both routine vegetation management and storm restoration efforts. • Demonstrate proficient use of bucket trucks, chainsaws, chippers and related tree‑care equipment. • Exercise good judgment and logical decision‑making in daily tasks. • 3+ years relevant experience. • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English; Spanish bilingualism a plus. • Valid driver’s license; Commercial Driver’s License preferred. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Ability to travel on short notice, work extended periods in various locations and lift over 50 lb. • Willingness to work overtime. • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and in inclement weather. • Perform rigorous physical labor and adhere to safety rules and company policies.
