About the Role

The Mechanic role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of company equipment, including trucks, trailers, mini excavators, and generators. The position requires timely completion of work orders, digital expense reporting, and adherence to project deadlines while keeping tools and workstations organized and safe. • Inspect and repair trucks, line trucks, trailers, mini excavators, and generators safely and cost‑effectively. • Perform road tests and operational checks to verify quality of repairs. • Order parts, materials, and supplies as needed. • Prepare and maintain records, reports, and digital work orders on iPad. • Complete expense reports promptly. • Monitor project priorities to meet deadlines. • Keep tools, supplies, and workstations clean and organized.

What You Bring

Ideal candidates are safety‑focused, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), and a DOT medical card before the start date. They bring extensive experience with heavy‑truck and equipment repair, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and possess basic welding, wiring, and brake‑job skills, along with strong communication and the ability to work independently. • Safety‑oriented with a proven record of high‑quality work. • High School Diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license (CDL a plus); DOT medical card before start. • Extensive experience in heavy‑truck/heavy‑equipment repair, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance. • Ability to perform tune‑ups, brake jobs (hydraulic and air), basic wiring, and light welding. • Knowledge of Vermeer/Ditch Witch drills, plows, mix systems, and aerial units (Altec, POSI Plus, Versa Lift, Terex). • Strong verbal communication, precise hand‑eye coordination, and ability to work with minimal supervision. • Vision clarity of 20/20 at 20 feet and ability to judge distances.
