About the Role
The Engineering Support role assists the Facilities Management team at assigned facilities, ensuring timely and accurate FM reporting while driving preventive maintenance programs that prioritize energy conservation. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer to manage the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (M&E) project scope, uphold quality standards, and oversee technical services contracts and procurement for the client. Key duties include contributing to financial targets set by the Senior Facilities Manager, achieving KPIs and service‑level agreements, and overseeing all M&E and civil maintenance activities. You will prepare critical spares lists, implement pre‑emptive maintenance to avoid equipment failures, review contractor practices, maintain logbooks and PPM schedules, manage downtime and ad‑hoc setups, and ensure contractors follow house rules with minimal client disruption. In addition, you will independently handle engineering shifts, assume AFM responsibilities when needed, and provide daily M&E reports to the Chief Engineer. Reporting tasks cover service maintenance, inventory and purchasing of spares, and downtime incident documentation. The position is based on‑site in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, with a scheduled 48‑hour work week. • Provide engineering support to the Facilities Management team. • Complete FM reports accurately and on time. • Lead preventive maintenance programs with an emphasis on energy conservation. • Assist the Chief Engineer in managing M&E project scope, quality, and deliverables. • Oversee facility, contract, and procurement management for technical services. • Contribute to financial targets set by the Senior Facilities Manager. • Achieve key performance indicators and service‑level agreement targets. • Support mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil maintenance activities. • Prepare critical spares lists per manufacturer recommendations and manage inventory. • Implement pre‑emptive maintenance to reduce equipment failures. • Review M&E contractor practices to ensure quality compliance. • Maintain logbooks, checklists, and PPM schedules for all installations. • Manage downtime, breakdowns, and arrange ad‑hoc M&E setups as required. • Ensure contractors follow house rules and minimize client inconvenience. • Assume AFM responsibilities and handle shifts independently on engineering matters. • Provide daily M&E reporting to the Chief Engineer. • Generate service maintenance, inventory, purchasing, and downtime incident reports.
