About the Role
Recent work includes re‑meandering and detailed design for the River Breamish (SSSI, SAC), River Eye (SSSI), and River Cocker, as well as nature recovery, wetland restoration, and large‑scale flood‑risk management in the North York Moors. The team also delivers weir removals, fish passes, river‑basin restoration planning for the Environment Agency, and geomorphological management plans in New Zealand. Key technical areas involve geomorphology, hydromorphology, river engineering, hydraulic and sediment‑transport modelling, and coordination of multi‑discipline teams. All team members engage directly with clients and handle commercial aspects, while health, safety, and environmental considerations underpin every project. Senior geomorphologists also coach junior staff and liaise closely with internal and external stakeholders. • Lead planning, modelling, and design of sustainable geomorphology and river restoration schemes. • Deliver detailed design, construction supervision, and ensure CDM compliance for river projects. • Perform hydraulic and sediment‑transport modelling and comprehensive geomorphological assessments. • Coordinate multi‑discipline teams, manage client relationships, and oversee commercial aspects of projects. • Coach junior staff and provide technical guidance across surface water, groundwater, estuaries, lakes, and marine projects.

Candidates should hold a degree in geography, physical sciences, engineering or a related discipline, and possess proven river‑restoration experience together with strong project‑management capabilities.
