Sort and inspect materials on conveyor, ensure proper placement and maintain safety.
Job Highlights
About the Role
The sorter manages material flow on the conveyor line, ensuring efficient operation and a clean work environment while adhering to safety protocols. The role includes equipment monitoring and may involve mentoring newer team members. Participation in regular safety and operations meetings is required. • Inspect and sort materials by type, size, condition, color, or grade • Remove contaminants from paper and work areas • Stack and dump boxes, skids, and totes as needed • Feed wastepaper and other material onto conveyors • Clean and maintain the conveyor line and surrounding area • Monitor machine start‑up, ensuring proper speed and operation • Follow standard operating procedures for equipment use and maintenance • Report safety hazards or equipment malfunctions promptly • Attend weekly or monthly safety and operations meetings • Provide guidance to less‑experienced sorters when required

What You Bring
The job combines an office‑type environment with plant/field work and requires routine use of computers, phones, and other standard office equipment. Physical demands include lifting, stacking, and moving boxes, skids, and containers while adhering to safety guidelines. • Minimum two years of relevant work experience • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
