About the Role

Key responsibilities include executing on‑site maintenance according to contractual KPIs, providing expert support and basic troubleshooting to NMRC staff, supervising maintenance using system checklists, and conducting root‑cause analysis of failures. The engineer will coordinate with the IXL design team to resolve critical issues, analyse MLK‑II logs, manage periodic changeovers of the MLK system, ensure power‑supply health, maintain documentation, follow safety and work‑permit guidelines, and perform shift and emergency duties, including 24×7 telephonic support. • Execute on‑site maintenance activities according to contractual KPIs. • Provide expert‑level support and basic troubleshooting for IXL systems to NMRC staff. • Supervise maintenance using system checklists and perform root‑cause analysis of failures. • Coordinate with the IXL design team to resolve critical issues and generate failure reports. • Analyse MLK‑II logs, manage periodic changeover of MLK systems, and ensure power‑supply health. • Maintain comprehensive documentation of maintenance actions and safety compliance. • Provide 24 × 7 shift and emergency tele‑support, including night‑time coverage. • Monitor day‑to‑day maintenance performance and deliver technical reports to the client. • Ensure adequate spare‑stock availability and activate repair processes.

Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Senior Wayside & On‑Board Service Engineer for the IXL subsystem. The candidate will thrive in a fast‑paced environment, handling tasks ranging from administrative duties to strategic technical support, and must be willing to move between metro project sites as required. The role’s purpose is to deliver effective maintenance services under annual maintenance contracts for metro projects, ensuring system upkeep and availability for smooth metro operations. Strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced metro environment are essential. Preferred experience includes at least five years (for degree holders) or seven years (for diploma holders) working with IXL signalling in metro or railway environments. Candidates should have an excellent understanding of indoor and outdoor IXL systems, experience with equipment such as indoor EI, point machines, axle counters, and signals, and knowledge of power supplies, wiring, switches, and communication networks. Candidates should hold a degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent. Strong client‑facing and internal communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to work under pressure and troubleshoot efficiently, are required. • Minimum 5 years (degree) or 7 years (diploma) experience with IXL signalling systems. • Proficient with indoor/outdoor IXL equipment such as EI, point machines, axle counters, and signals. • Knowledge of power supplies, wiring connections, switches, and communication networks. • Strong client‑facing communication skills and ability to work under pressure. • Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science/Instrumentation Engineering.
