About the Role

The Foreman role involves overseeing construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission systems, both energized and de-energized. This position requires strong leadership to coach crew members and ensure safe, productive work practices. • Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de-energized transmission lines. • Coach and train crew members in safe work procedures and hot‑stick operations. • Conduct pre‑job or tailgate briefings and plan work based on job prints or work orders. • String overhead wire, set poles and anchors, and install transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. • Troubleshoot primary and secondary systems, replace cutout fuses, and clear faulted circuits. • Identify primary and secondary voltage, phase circuits through substations, and obtain one‑shot on reclosers. • Safely operate equipment, use load‑bust tools, and install/remove mechanical jumpers. • Follow grounding, flag, and tag procedures and properly use PPE and cover‑up gear. • Perform reconductoring, sag wire, and properly phase out lines using phasing sticks. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order. • Travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods at various locations.

What You Bring

The foreman may be required to travel to other states on short notice to meet customer demands, and must be capable of planning and executing work based on job prints or work orders while adhering to strict safety protocols. The role demands rigorous physical labor, including climbing various structures, handling heavy equipment, and working in inclement weather. Employees are regularly exposed to fumes, vibration, and loud noise while performing duties outdoors. • Work at heights and in confined spaces, climbing wood, steel, and other structures. • Lift loads exceeding 50 lb and perform rigorous physical labor as required. • Possess 5–10 years of related experience and a valid CDL with safe driving record. • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed and complete required paperwork.
