About the Role

The role ensures the department has the technical service capability to support engineering and service commitments at an advanced level of complexity. While it does not include direct management responsibility, the incumbent assists the Services Manager with coaching, mentoring, and leadership in customer interactions, and provides technical guidance to field associates in the district. • Mentor field service reps and provide technical advice as needed. • Report to the Field Service Manager and advise on technical service or support matters. • Manage a portfolio of Customer Key Accounts. • Perform service and support work according to standard procedures and beyond when required. • Provide pre‑sales and post‑sales technical support, including commissioning, installation, testing, and maintenance of products and systems. • Develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems during start‑up. • Research, evaluate, and recommend new products or equipment upgrades to meet customer needs. • Monitor and resolve recurring complex problems to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction. • Coach and mentor less experienced engineers, review their work quality, and assist in problem diagnosis. • Generate leads for Service Support. • Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve technical issues that arise during start‑up. • Train customers on the features of purchased equipment. • Engage with customers to support the Services Manager in key interactions. • Work independently with general direction, applying independent judgment within division policies. • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. • Read, analyze, and interpret business procedures, technical documents, and regulations. • Write clear reports and procedure manuals; present information effectively to managers, clients, and customers. • Perform calculations, algebra, and geometry; interpret technical instructions and diagrams. • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously. • Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; lift and carry objects up to 50 lb.

What You Bring

• Demonstrate leadership and coaching attitude to mentor field team members. • Possess high‑level technical knowledge of electronic/electrical component theory; HVAC systems and application software knowledge preferred. • Proficient with PC tools: email, record keeping, databases, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics. • Familiarity with preparing Methods of Procedures (MOPs) is a plus. • Possess verifiable hands‑on technical work experience and required certifications. • Experience with critical systems infrastructure equipment such as electrical switchgear, diesel generators, UPS, distribution, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, fire detection/suppression, and building monitoring systems. • Clear verbal and written communication skills and a valid driver’s license. • Minimum two‑year degree or technical certification in an electrical‑related program (preferred). • 7+ years of experience as a shop and/or field electrical technician. • At least 1 year of demonstrated leadership skills and role‑model behavior aligned with SCOPE values. • Knowledge of advanced electrical industry manufacturing standards, including ANSI IEEE C37 sections for breakers and switchgear. • Understanding of ANSI IEEE device function numbers, ampacities, and electrical clearance requirements. • Experience designing and manufacturing bus and structural modification projects. • Skilled in writing accurate test reports and project summaries, and explaining project anomalies. • Knowledge of basic electrical theory and control circuits (Ohm’s Law, AC/DC theory, contactor and circuit breaker schematics). • Knowledge of distribution protective relay testing, hi‑pot testing, and breaker function testing.
