Journeyman Electrician

About the Role

The current opening is for a Journeyman Electrician who will install electrical systems in commercial and industrial construction markets, supervise helpers or apprentices on each job, and promote excellent customer relations by interacting with clients to determine needs and provide solutions. • Report to job site on time and ready to work. • Apply electrical and construction principles to solve design and modification problems. • Perform work in compliance with national, local codes and current NEC revisions. • Follow company policies, meet daily commitments, and stay on schedule. • Supervise and coordinate assigned helper/apprentice electricians. • Load materials, dig trenches, pull wire, and assist with various tasks. • Maintain a clean, clutter‑free job site. • Complete required paperwork such as timecards. • Enforce safety policies, program, and training. • Troubleshoot common electrical systems (services, feeders, branch circuits). • Plan installations to minimize waste, facilitate future maintenance, and meet code. • Prepare sketches or follow diagrams/blueprints for concealed wiring. • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install conduit; pull wiring through it. • Splice, strip, and terminate wires, connecting them to fixtures and equipment. • Install control and distribution devices (switches, relays, breaker panels). • Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads. • Observe installed equipment for hazards and make adjustments as needed. • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
