About the Role
• Ensure product lines interoperate across the DAF Battle Network and support Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) interoperability. • Design, develop, implement, maintain, and manage configuration and quality control of software for scientific and engineering applications. • Define system and software requirements, obtain customer approval, and translate requirements into detailed designs. • Create prototypes and use Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket/Git to manage work and collaborate. • Identify potential roadblocks and devise software solutions for poorly defined problems. • Improve performance metrics through critical planning and execution of development tasks. • Resolve software discrepancies against documented requirements. • Generate program design language and code following department standards. • Determine software maintainability and ensure adherence to user requirements and standards. • Produce and update documentation defining software product baselines. • Explore new programming languages or technologies to deliver complete products. • Support on‑site meetings and deliveries to customers. • Lead and mentor junior engineers. • Manage software requirements verification and validation activities within DoD acquisition environments. • Apply model‑based systems engineering, risk management, and backlog management tools to support Air Force acquisition programs.

What You Bring
KBR is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to support the Air Force Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) Division. The role provides expert‑level software engineering, test, and evaluation guidance for this complex program. The position is on‑site in Beavercreek, OH with moderate travel (20‑40%). Standard core hours are 0900‑1500. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering or a related field and have 8+ years of software engineering or test and evaluation experience, preferably on Air Force acquisition or DoD systems. An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
