About the Role

The Supervising Engineer – Transmission Line role oversees the planning and design of high‑voltage infrastructure, managing a team of engineers and designers to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate has a civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering background with extensive high‑voltage project experience. Responsibilities include leading projects from inception through closeout, supervising engineers and support staff, overseeing design and specifications for substations and transmission lines, developing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating stakeholders, implementing quality control, and maintaining detailed project documentation. • Lead and manage transmission line projects from planning through construction closeout. • Supervise engineers, designers, and support staff, providing guidance and performance evaluations. • Oversee preparation of engineering designs, specifications, and plans for substations and transmission lines. • Develop and control project budgets, monitoring expenses for cost‑effective solutions. • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, environmental and safety regulations. • Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, and the public to achieve successful delivery. • Implement quality control procedures to maintain high workmanship and material standards. • Prepare and maintain detailed project status reports and engineering documentation.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least seven years of electric utility experience, a B.S. or graduate degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program, and a PE license. They should demonstrate proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams, strong technical expertise across structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical disciplines, knowledge of utility standards and codes, and excellent communication and independent decision‑making abilities. • Minimum 7 years utility engineering or management experience on high‑voltage projects. • Hold a B.S. or graduate degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited university and a PE license. • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex projects on schedule and budget. • Strong knowledge of utility codes and standards (ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, NEC, NESC, etc.). • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
