• Develop detailed OSP/FTTH designs including fiber routing, splice plans, and network layouts. • Create and update GIS design maps using QGIS or ArcGIS Pro. • Evaluate field data, as‑built records, and surveys to produce accurate design packages. • Apply underground and aerial construction best practices, including NESC considerations and ROW permitting. • Review vendor and contractor deliverables for completeness and compliance with engineering standards. • Maintain project documentation and ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.

What You Bring
Byers Engineering, a MasTec company, is hiring a full‑time OSP Planner Engineer with strong FTTH design experience. The role supports network expansion from conceptual design through construction handoff, utilizing desktop GIS tools and applying knowledge of aerial and underground construction methods and ROW permitting. The position operates in a virtual team environment with work hours aligned to the customer’s schedule. Candidates must pass a background and drug screening and demonstrate strong communication, people skills, and a sense of urgency. • Require 3+ years of OSP engineering experience with FTTH network planning. • Proficiency in QGIS or ArcGIS Pro and strong understanding of trenching, boring, conduit, pole attachments, and make‑ready processes. • Knowledge of ROW permitting requirements and ability to interpret utility maps, as‑builts, and landbase data. • Demonstrate strong communication, documentation, and people skills with a sense of urgency. • Minimum 3 years as a telecommunications OSP designer; must pass background and drug screenings.
