About the Role

In this Standard Operations Position you will supervise a high‑performing, safe operations team across multiple functions, facilities, or commodities. You’ll drive efficient, cost‑effective use of resources through consistent application of policies and procedures, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operations while continuously improving performance and meeting corporate goals. • Provide visible safety leadership and foster a sustainable safety culture with the Safety Consultant. • Drive real‑time safety accountability through meetings, job briefs, audits, training, incident investigations, and site observations. • Evaluate team performance using efficiency, reliability, and quality metrics; implement corrective actions and ensure data integrity. • Identify and lead continuous‑improvement initiatives, collaborating to adopt new processes and set expectations. • Lead crew effectiveness, quality, and productivity; maintain presence on the worksite and remove barriers to performance. • Ensure appropriate crew composition and skill sets to meet operational, reliability, customer, and financial goals. • Contribute to resource forecasting and longer‑term work planning. • Recruit, develop, and manage talent; set clear expectations, provide coaching, training, and drive employee engagement. • Represent the organization in bargaining‑unit discussions, grievances, and corrective actions. • Build and maintain internal and external relationships to support operations and improve stakeholder satisfaction. • Oversee execution and documentation of work per Xcel Energy policies, labor agreements, and regulatory standards; ensure compliance training. • Monitor and track processes to maintain regulatory compliance.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least five years of experience in design, construction, operations, engineering, or maintenance of utility systems, with demonstrated technical expertise and knowledge of relevant regulations. An associate’s or technical degree is preferred, along with three years of supervisory experience, an understanding of utility finance, and experience working with bargaining‑unit employees.
