About the Role

In this position you will lead multimodal transportation design for municipal, provincial, transit and private development initiatives, deliver high‑quality functional and conceptual roadway packages, and develop studies that support sustainable movement of people and goods. You will partner with clients, agencies and multidisciplinary teams to align technical requirements, oversee site‑plan reviews, and create construction staging and traffic‑management plans that meet provincial and municipal standards. Quality assurance, mentorship of junior staff and contribution to business development are also key components of the role. • Lead multimodal transportation design for municipal, provincial, transit and private development projects. • Produce functional, conceptual and preliminary roadway design packages. • Develop transportation studies and planning analyses for roads, transit corridors and site circulation. • Coordinate with clients, agencies and multidisciplinary teams to align technical requirements and create context‑appropriate designs. • Review site plans to ensure compliance with municipal standards and operational needs. • Prepare construction staging and traffic‑management plans meeting NSPW, TAC and municipal standards. • Ensure quality assurance and control through governance, mentorship and best‑practice application. • Mentor junior and intermediate engineers through knowledge sharing and coaching. • Support business development by preparing proposal inputs and conducting research.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate brings more than ten years of progressive transportation design experience, holds a Nova Scotia P.Eng. licence and a degree in civil or transportation engineering, and is fluent in tools such as AutoCAD, AutoTURN and Microsoft Office. A strong commitment to sustainable transportation and climate‑resilient solutions, combined with the ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively, is essential. • Possess 10+ years of transportation design experience and a Nova Scotia P.Eng. licence. • Hold a civil or transportation engineering degree and proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoTURN and Microsoft Office. • Demonstrate commitment to sustainable transportation and climate‑resilient solutions. • Thrive both independently and collaboratively, guiding teams while advancing technical excellence.
