About the Role

The position involves observing and documenting field activities during construction, sampling and testing various materials, performing calculations, using screening equipment, reading plans, and daily communication with contractors and project managers. The role will eventually become the sole representative of ECS on project sites. • Observe and document field activities related to the construction process. • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement. • Perform calculations and data reduction of test results and draft reports. • Use field screening equipment and record readings. • Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans. • Interact and communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. • Gain confidence to serve as the sole ECS representative on project sites. • Provide suitable transportation for job sites (mileage reimbursed).

What You Bring

Candidates should be actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, with an interest in building material utilization. The job requires physical ability to lift 40‑70 lb repeatedly (occasionally 85 lb), reliable transportation for site travel (mileage reimbursed), and acknowledges that relocation assistance is not provided. • Actively pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. • Able to carry 40–70 lb multiple times daily and occasionally lift 85 lb to waist height.
